It's your body returning from an evening of sleep in the deep subconcious. You also could have gone to bed frightened - that always does it for me!
No your not losing it. It's a normal reaction to stress. A lot of times it means your anxious about finishing a current project or worried about the outcome and unforeseen events getting in the way of completion.
rather common. many cultures have myths dealing with such things, like the old hag death dreams or incubus/succubus demons.
its your subconcious mind .
get out of that feeling, i mean go to bed one day after laughing and joking a lot,sleep with open lights and glass windows.
you are not loosing it ,you are just being mighty concious
