it is the hyperactivity of the brain, depending on your favorite man, Freudians believe that it is a release of your sexual fantasies. but if you follow anyone else, it is the brain just readjusting to the day before. yes you can, but it happens rarely, it just means that you are extra creative.

I have never ever had a black and white dream

dreams are flashes of memories and they are in color. however if you are dreaming about something that you have never seen... this could be classified as imagination... and scientifically it has no explanation for the moment.

Psychologically speaking, dreams are a way for your subconscious to work out issues and problems you had during the day. And i don't know about you, but I only dream in color.
