This is classic Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder behavior. First step - talk to your parents. You need to go to a psychiatrist as soon as possible, but they need to know what is going on also. These behaviors that worry you so much are a symptom of the disorder, and absolutely will not disappear on their own. You need medication and the advice of a licensed, professional therapist. You will learn how to control the behaviors with the help of medication.

If you are afraid to talk to your parents about the problem (sometimes it can be scary sharing things with parents), pull up this question and the answers, tell them to read it, tell them you wrote it, and leave the room. But don't go too far because they are going to want to help you.
Good luck!
sounds like it could be OCD, or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I've known people who've had it. your best bet would be to be evaluated by a psychiatrist, and maybe be medicated or just go through talk therapy to help relieve you of the symptoms.
Sounds like OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). My dad has it... and he physcially can't leave the houe without doing certain things. The fears could be a bit of anxiety... the counting goes with OCD, my dad does that too.
He has to take medication and visit a therapist. He literally couldn't function in the real world until he got professional help. Nothing to be ashamed of, but I'd definitely mention it to a parent or a school therpaist.
Sounds like OCD
If you're scared a lot about death you could have necrophobia (fear of death) in which case you might want to see a doctor and tell them about your problem so that they can advise you get the proper help. As for the certain things b4 sleeping bit, you could have OCD (obsessive compulsive dissorder) in which case again you should see your doctor so that he/she can help you.
What you have to remember is that the world does not revolve around you or what you do. Lightning won`t strike your mother if you swear. Look up the word " Narcissism "
Another thing to remember is you are not the only one that has these fears. It`s actually very common.
Don't freak. Could be something that has real solutions...Sounds a little like OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) but I think you're young for that...I'm NOT a doctor, just have a little experience with it.

This could get worse and start interfering with your life. Don't know that. But it's worth asking a real doctor where you can give more detail and get proper advice. You can find free counselors in your town, ask your doctor/nurse/minister for a referral. Talk to your mom or a teacher...get at least one appointment with a qualified doctor. It's worth knowing what's happening and getting some real suggestions for coping with it. Don't worry. You're smart enough to recognize a pattern and ask for help. Keep going...you'll get the help you need and you'll get on with life with or without these obsessions.

Good Luck!!
What you have is obsessive compulsive disorder, It sounds as though you have all the classic symptoms. Not to worry though you are not alone a large amount of people suffer from this disorder in some form or another. You must make an appt. with your doctor to discuss your issues and he may send you to a specialist in that area. They will probably give you medications to take that help to control these impulses and make your life a whole lot easier to deal with. Hope all goes well for you.
While it's possible that this could be OCD, you may just be having anxiety issues. Honestly, I think our culture pushes people to think that any minor thing that bothers them is some kind of disorder. If these things are interfering with your ability to live your daily life, then you should certainly seek help for it. But don't turn minor quirks into something major if they're not--they may be just part of what makes you unique.
I hope you don't see this as a judgement, but your avatar is kind of emo, and if emo friends are constantly around you talking about how they're messed up, depresssed, etc., that could certainly cause you to think something is wrong with you--if that is what's going on in your life, I advise you to make some new friends.
It sounds like OCD. The best thing to do would be to have your parents take you to a psychiatrist. If you feel like trying home remedies first, heres a few things to try.

1. Face your fear. If you are afraid of having something bad happen if you stop at the number 7, all day, do everything in 7's, see that nothing bad will happen. Think up all your fears and anything you can do (safely, obviously, if you are afraid of getting hit by a car, dont jump in front of one), but anything else, do it. force yourself, have a support person there to help you if you need it.

2. Write! Get a journal, and everytime you feel the need to do one of these things, write about it instead of doing it. Write about why you want to do it, write whatever comes to mind, dont hold anything back, and write until the urge passes.

3. Talk about it. Same concept as writing, but instead, pick one person you can talk to 24/7, that wont mind being woken up if you need to talk, and just spill your beans, cry, yell, get mad, whatever it takes until the urge passes.

Good luck!
The reason that could be happening is because our minds are VERY creative, and our culture encourages unfounded beliefs, including superstition.

In reality, I'll bet bad things will not happen to you or people around you if you do something seven times. I'm so confident that it won't happen, that I think you should try it and see.

Once you get past a few incidents, you'll see that those ideas you have are unfounded and not a reliable way to go through life.

In any case, if you do decide to seek out help, start with counseling or psychotherapy and hold out from getting on "meds" as long as possible.

You're young and these obsessions will fall by the wayside as you mature and see that your world is a lot safer than you think it is.
Hey sweetheart ,
It sounds like you have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or OCD this is a form of an anxiety disorder the obsession to do something and the compulsion to sooth it. If this is the case and it is OCD, you should talk to your parents or someone you feel comfortable with about getting professional help so you can learn how to grow comfortably with this disorder into adulthood. You will have this for the rest of your life, so don't be scared all you can do is learn how to adjust. And don't be ashamed your not the only person with OCD. Just feel special I'm sure you are.
u may have ocd. obessive compulsive disorder. check it out on yahoo search engine
This really does sound like OCD. This sounds like what I used to do when I was younger. I still have 'habits' now such as a tendency to count and having to think about the worst case scenario to prevent it from happening.

The best thing I can suggest to you is to talk to your parents about seeing a counsellor or psychologist/psychiatrist who can help you with some cognitive therapy. This will help you to identify what you are doing and find ways to rid yourself of the behaviour or control it so it does not take over your life!
I'm not a psychiatrist, but it seems to me that you might have obsessive-compulsive disorder. When I was about 15 years old, my school performance started to plummet. I had been almost a straight "A" student up until that point. Then, when the OCD started, I, too, began counting things (how many steps I took while going from one place to another (often getting up into the thousands!))

I, too, would double- or triple-check (and sometimes, many more times) whether I locked a door or turned an appliance or light off.

Then, one day, when I was ill and went to my family physician, in addition to treating my illness, he noticed me displaying some symptoms of OCD. His son also suffers from OCD and his symptoms were much worse than mine! He referred me to a psychiatrist who specialized in OCD. Well, that particular psychiatrist and I didn't get along so I found another one (with the help of a social worker I was seeing at the time who was in the same medical group as the psychiatrist with whom I didn't get along).

Well, the second psychiatrist helped me a lot. He prescribed a new medication and I continued to see my social worker.

Often, you'll have to try more than one psychiatrist and more than one medication (I've been on about eight different medications over the past 25 years) and have been discouraged at times but, I have gotten over the discouragement. Sometimes, a certain medication will help at first, but, over time, lose its effectiveness. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED! Psychiatrists know that this happens and usually, will have no problem with trying something new.

Good luck, and please, seek help.

Mark
Confide these feelings to a parent. If you feel that you can't do that then talk with a minister etc.or a school counselor Have a responsible adult help you with this . What you are experiencing is too heavy for a 13 yo to handle alone.
well i aint a doctor, but could be OCD
talk to your parents
they'll get you help !
