Is it a mental illness?

Question:
my 14 year old daughter has grown up with many difficult challenges. my buisness was embezzled, causing a major adverse financial impact. i then was diagnosed with a right brain injury, ms, and many other medical conditions. she has gone through so much. it seems as though she takes pleasure in annoying her sister, playing jokes on people, and telling people random stories so people would feel bad for her. for expample: she told her guy friends that she was gang raped. after she told him that she was pregnant and getting an abortion. this doesnt seem normal? when things dont go away she breaks down. she cant breathe and can't control her anger. What could this be? it doesnt seem usual?

Answers:
i think its just a behavioural thing...she is 14 after all..the fact that she shows an extreme need for attention...but she doesnt seem to do it in a 'glamourpus' kind of way as she cant control her anger. i think she may need a bit of therapy...a bit of discipline. its not a mental illness she just lacks discipline at the moment and doesnt know how to behave (im not saying shes a bad kid but having the hard times growing up she lost it somewhere along the way)
She needs counseling for sure to relieve her of such weird behaviors. She must be suffering because of the hardships she has faced in the past.
It could be Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivit... Disorder (ADHD), not to say bad things about your daughter though. It may also just be hormones as she is in the adolescent stage of her life.
I don't think that your daughter is mental in any way. No, her behavior is not normal either. It sounds like she has had an over load of stress and having a very hard time coping with it. With everything going on in your life as well, she is probably seeking more attention. Some family counseling may help, especially with her anger issues.
sounds like she is looking for attention but in a sad and wrong way l think you need to get her some help, maybe therapy would help. good luck..
I am in no way a doctor but it sounds very similar to a condition called "Borderline Personality Disorder". You can look this up online and get some more info about it. Good luck!
