Are all overweight people depressed?
Question:
I used to be very thin but my depression was still their, are all overweight people suffering inside with their feelings & use food as a distraction, like a drug?
Answers:
I think I was depressed. But, I never considered myself depressed until I lost the weight. I look back now and realize how miserable I was. I obsessed about how fat I was every minute of the day. Now I hardly think about it since I have dropped 50 pounds. Weight sucks, I know it's hard to diet. I dieted and gained more weight over a 20 year period.
No

Here is some information you can access
Not all overweight people are depressed. Depression can be caused by any number of things. Speak to a professional if you think you're depressed.
Sometimes overweight people feel depressed and think that because of their weight they are different to the world and that they are basically stupid and ugly but its not true, someone can be over weight but that doesnt mean they have to feel depressed, i mean, you should forget all the lazy things and go enjoy your life, leave TV and start jogging or if you like music, go to a dance studio with a friend in case you feel insecure of going alone and just enjoy dancing and learning, if you are depressed you are not enjoying your life, you should live life to the fullest and forget about your body for a while and maybe if you focus on something, in this case eating less food and live life to the fullest then before you know it you might have left the over wirght stage and back into your fit body. you should have a balance, you should eat food normally breakfast lunch and dinner and maybe a small snack in between like 2 or 3 cookies and maybe some yoghurt and an ice cdream but dont go al crazy and think that if you dont eat anything you'll lose a lot of weight and you'll stop being depressed. also think about other people like the people who really care about you, would you really want them to see you depressed and sad? spend some time outside and be more active hang out with friends and only worry about your weight once in a while, keep you activity and food balanced and enjoy your life with your family and friends. trust me, im not that thin but i know how you feel, you just have to focus in what you want to do.
