How to erase traumatic experiences we had from our mind?

Question:

Answers:
I'm not sure that there is a good way to erase traumatic experiences from your mind. I think it's possible to ease the trauma of those experiences in various ways, including EMDR, therapy and hypnosis.

Good luck,

Other than blocking it out or dealing w/ them....They probably just stay locked up in a skeleton closet in our minds... Loss those keys awhile back.:) Like it that way too!!!
We can never ERASE them as such, however there are several techniques that I know of that can assist in releasing the EMOTIONAL content of the memories. One is EFT (emotional freedom technique) find out more at www.emofree.com The other is called EMDR and can only be administered by a qualified specialist in this technique, usually trained phycologists.

I have found EFT very helpful in helping people overcome servre childhood abuse issues. Worth a look certainly. The site is very comprehensive.
Can't erase them...have to deal with them, usually with a therapist, and then you will not think of them anymore.
I'm not sure you can erase bad experiences, but you can help yourself move on from them. I had a very traumatic childhood, and I finally got some help 22 years later. I'm still working on things, but my life is a lot better these days. Traumatic experiences can change your life, but if you get help there is hope for your future. Sometimes depending on how bad of an experience we can better our selves from that. I wish you the best of luck!
I believe, it is best if we don't erase them. It is better to work through them, to understand they did happen, we lived through it, and we are stronger for it. When you start trying to forget, or to erase things from your mind...you mind WILL remember, and bring it up in really anxious ways of doing so.
geyamala - sorry, you cannot erase any memory from your mind. However, you can remove the emotional 'sting' and the emotional 'triggers' from any traumatic experience by using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Emotional Tapping.

Please know, emotions are just ENERGIES IN MOTION in our bodies. Emotions are meant to be FELT and RELEASED. The reason the memories of traumatic events still hurt is because we haven't really let go of the emotions associated with the event. The emotions are painful, so we push them away and do not let ourselves feel them fully. Every time we have the memory we feel all the feelings associated with it. And, if something reminds us of the event, it also triggers all those painful emotions.

Every time you don't allow yourself or you aren't allowed to fully experience an emotion, to feel it, and to move through it, the energy of that emotion becomes stopped and blocked in your body. It remains blocked until you go back and re-experience that emotion. Then the energetic block is freed and cleared. When the block is cleared, the memory is no longer emotionally painful and the trigger is removed.

One good way to get rid of past traumatic emotions is to use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Emotional Tapping. In EFT you apply gentle acupressure tapping to specific body points to release blocked emotions. EFT is easy to learn (you can learn the basics in 15-30 minutes). You can use EFT anytime, anywhere for any emotional or physical issue. One basic round of EFT takes about one minute to complete. EFT is virtually painless...using EFT, you do not need to feel the emotion to release it. EFT works FAST.

Please download the FREE EFT Instructional manual from the EFT website (www.emofree.com). Also. please watch the FREE introductory video.

I learned how to use EFT last year and now I use it everyday for everything. I have released a lot of old traumatic emotions and I feel so GOOD.

Good luck!
I was molested from the time I was tiny, so I've had a lot of repressed memories to deal with. I don't believe it's a good idea to actually try to erase memories, no matter how traumatic. I needed to remember, I needed to get a professional to help me with them. No matter how hard you stuff emotions, they always find a way out. Usually side-ways, in this way, you don't even recognize that this is where the current emotion is coming from.

Unless major surgery is had it is technically impossible, but if you focus on other things and NEVER even think about that expirience the mind will come very close 2 4getting it, however this is VERY hard.
They seem to stay with you. But, after time and perhaps a lot of time. The experience seems not so important as the day it happened.
