I also suffered from Panic attacks and anxiety attacks. Hated all the perscriptions. Went to cognitive therapy, thought it was kind of stupid but it did help me to figure out what triggers them and how to calm myself. I can now for the most part calm myself. Xanax can help for major times. Good luck!
everytime i'm with a porn star
you might have alot of stress in your life
pray
Have you done any therapy yet?
I hate it when doctors just give you pills to manage your symptoms, without putting patients in therapy where they can actually learn to deal with (and possibly solve) the actual problem.
Please go back to your doctor. Tell him you want to try Paxel. It helped me a great deal a couple of years ago and I had suffered with panic attacks for years also.
I am off it now, but it really does help.
Try therapy. A good therapist will be able to teach you warning signs, coping skills and calming strategies. Although this may not be reassuring, panic attacks rarely last longer than 10 minutes and you will not go crazy or have a heart attack. Meds cover up the problem and have a high liklihood of addiction. Try exercise, meditation, and a good CBT-trained therapist. Good luck!
ask your doctor about zimovane it worked for me, its an anti depressant for panic attacks/anxiety, non addictive too, hope you feel better soon
well, i agree you don't want to be addicted, but the attacks are interfering with your life, not to mention your future and your happiness.
Talk to your current doctor; see if he/she will try some other drugs. If not, find another doctor; a psychiatrist would be particularly good, since he/she can prescribe meds and will be knowledgeable about anxiety attacks.
There are also self help groups for people with extreme anxiety - that might help.
i had the same thing....they're terrible, i know, i was up until 4am almost every night because of them...
i went to a therapist to see if she'd recommend anything, and just simple small things helped a little.
she told me to visualize my favorite place in the whole world (mine was the beach) and just focus on your 5 senses when you are there.for example, what you hear? --waves crashing, seagulls, etc.what do you feel? --grainy sand between my toes, the hot sun on my face.and just go through all your senses. it'll take your mind off of your anxiety attack and take you to your "special place"
i definitely felt much calmer afterwards
also, if you're having any large issues (something that could be really bugging you in your life) figure out what it is and how you can solve it.having stressful things in your life can really trigger an anxiety attack. so work on that, if thats the case!
hope you feel better!
Try taking a anti depressant such as lexapro. I use to have bad anxiety attacks I thought I was dying. It is a horrible feeling I wouldnt want to wish on anyone. I use to have to breathe in a paper bag so I know what you mean. Maybe you need to talk to a doctor about an anti depressant or some other medication. Sometimes stress can cause anxiety. Maybe its something in your life that you are worried are anxious about. But whatever it is I sure wish you the best. I have been there and done that. Just try to stay calm and think on positive things. Thats what helped me and Lexapro. I havent had an attack since 2002.
I get them every once in a while. I meditate and do yoga to help with stress. I also run a lot. Any type of exercises you do releases tension and stress in you body. The body releases endorphins which make you happy.
You need to explore the reasons you are having these panic attacks , what brings them on, so forth, for me its something as small as seeing fall leaves on the road way cause I had a real bad car wreck during the fall when leaves were scattered all over the roadway. If you can afford to see a therapist that would help.
i am not sure how u feel when u get one but trust me if you develop any interesting hobby which u can practice as and when u want, u will feel better in the sense that it will occupy ur mind . You would be far from the useless and nonsense stuff which actually trigger off these conditions.
Do whatever u like, eg. meeting people, watching movies, listneing\ singing , reading and best is to go to terminally ill patients wards in the hospitals once in a while to c them suffering and realising u have no problem in comparison to them.
Try to be happy. wish u luck.
I'm probably gonna get allot of slack for this answer but I am speaking from experience so I don't care.
The fact of the matter is that it's all in your head. And the power to stop the anxiety is in your mind not in the meds the doctors prescribe in order to rake in the dough.
You need to understand that anxiety is simply your boby sensing stress or a "fight or flight" situation and dispursing the chemical adrenalin through your body.
If you were being chased by a murderer the extra adrenalin would help you run faster and longer alost like a superhuman. Unfortunatlt that same adrenlin when dissperesed through your body while your at home or at a social event ,or where ever you experience your anxiety, now feel like your heart and body are going to explode and like your mind is losing it's sanity.
What you have to do is tell yourself that it is just your mind playing tricks on your body. If you start to feel the adrenalin rush coming on don't "panic"! This will only cause your body to release more adrenilan and start the cycle of a "panic attack".
You need to just relax and not be frightened. Take deep breaths. have some water. go for a walk outside or do anything that is calming for you personally. Once your mind and body come to an agreement that you are relaxed and that there is no need for the extra adrenalin your anxiety will end.
Do this consistantly every time your start to feel anxiety and your problem should fade away. learn to work through your anxiety and slowly the symptoms will fade and you will get faster and more efficient at stoping the anxiety before it starts.
hope it helps!
um, im 18 also and im in xanax and many many others, u should get a second opinion on this really cuz that sucks, u dont have to deal with that for so long there is help. ask.
usually the best thing to do for anxiety attacks, is to talk to someone about it. the doctors probably dont know what is stressing you or bothering you, and if they do, you probably dont always want to tell them. if you feel confortable with a therapist, then go with that, but if not, find a good friend. find a friend who understands u the most, and is a good listener. i dont no if ur a christian, but even if ur not, i think you should still pray to God about it. dont feel frustrated if u dont get an answer right away. its all about waiting and having faith. if u really want ur anxiety to go away, this is the way to go. ive accomplished many things because i prayed, and you will to.
