There are a LOT of 12 step groups and self help groups.
i think the last i heard was 127. maybe it was 147.
One of them might fit with your life and experiences.
Some cities/counties used to have mental health practitioners
as social workers, but i don't know how to access that resource.
Nope. You need to see a therapist face-to-face. People who provide therapy over the internet are ripping you off. Part of therapy is when the therapist explores your actions and behaviors in therapy.
Local mental health clinics can provide low-cost therapy. Check into those.
Contact a few local psychologists and see if they have discount plans available for people on a low income or college students. Another option is to contact a local church and see if they offer a counseling ministry.
I've been to therapy before and it never helped. Try to think things out before paying for a therapist.
- Try writing everything down
- Listen to music
- Talk to a friend
If none seems to help, I would find a good therapist.
