Do you think it's ok to stop taking anxiety medication and to stop smoking marijuana at the same time?

Question:
I'm not sure if it's ok? I've been slowing down my anxiety medication because I haven't felt well enough to take it and at this point haven't taken it for about 5 days. I also take medication for nauseaus which is caused by my anxiety...my worst symptom so far has been that my nausea has gotton worse and every sad story online makes me cry a little.oh and I'm a little light headed.

I've wanted to quit smoking for a while now, especially in the last 2 months, but because my symptoms have worsened.it became hard and now that I am unable to take my aniety medication at all. Do you think it's safe to stop both at the same time or should I wait a few more weeks before I stopped smoking? I don't want to mess up my head too much too soon.

What do you think? I will be seeing my doctor in a week from today...he's on vacation this week.

Thanks

Answers:
Consult with your doctor in a week. Don't change your medication while your doctor is on vacation. This is a decision that should be made between you and your doctor.

And as to stopping mood altering substances at the same time. I think it is a bad idea. Taper off each substance one at a time. Don't quit taking psyc meds without tapering them off.
well i say do one thing at a time first stop smoking then get off the meds if u need me im me on messanger
or call my cell any time 606-316-5888
pot is illegal, stop smoking it! It's so bad for you!!!!!
Marijuana is a depressant. You shouldn't be smoking it if you are also depressed and taking anxiety medicine. Your screwing with your brain chemicals. Stop smoking pot, and continue to take your prescribed meds as directed until you see your physician. I suffer from anxiety and depression, and when I was younger, I smoked pot. After a while, smoking made my anxiety worse, so I had to stop. Good Luck!!
Quit smoking pot and take your anxiety meds.
One is interfering with the other. But which is which?
You may need to up your anxiety meds-if they are not working, but give them a CHANCE to work, and see if it is THEM working or pot.
Don't go off meds without your doctor monitoring you. It is not safe.
And pot makes you more paranoid and often more anxious. And it is illegal. Why make a mess for yourself if you don't have to?
If you CAN'T quit, and try--tell your doctor THAT TOO. He may recommend other treatment to get you off pot.
I know it is not physically addicting, but it certainly is a habit, hard to break.
Don't drink, either. Let the meds do their job, without interference. Find out if they DO work.
Good luck.
