Has anyone tried the Lithium with Orolate (holistic approach) for BiPolar?

Question:
I am trying to decide which direction to advise my boyfriend...who will hopefully get better real soon!
Thanks!

Answers:
Let his doc help decide-Some things work better for some people than others.

Sometimes with Bipolar it is different brain chemicals that are out of balance-so Lithium may be perfect for one and not work for someone else.

Also, make sure he is getting therapy in addition to medication. As he ages he will face more symptoms of the Bipolar and not all of them are managed by meds.

You can help by tracking his moods and starting to get a feel for when he is depressed and when he is in a normal between phases period and when he is manic. It will help you give him some space especially when he is manic. Remember this is not something he can help. It is truly biological. He needs therapy especially in the very vulnerable depressed period.

Bipolar's experience depression much more strongly than other people who are depressed. Also, keep in mind that Bipolar sufferers have the highest suicide rates, and substance abuse rates.
My best friend did just great on Lithium
Son has responded well for over 15 years with Zoloft and Depakote
and 1:1 therapy
Lithuim, at first, kinda sucks(so I've heard) but once you get use to it, it can work wonders..I think. That's what I've heard.
