When will the affects go away?

Question:
I have been on Prozac for a few years on and off. Mostly on. And every time I tried going off it, I would stop immediately which was never a good idea. This time around I gradually decreased my doses. It's been 2 months now and I still get strange affects.
Every few moments I would get this "swooshing" sound in my head/ears and for a second it would feel like I am going to faint. Almost like being lightheaded. I don't know how else to explain it. Could it be the meds or what?

Answers:
I think you better go to the doctor and get that checked out. Something from coming off of the med would be more like the feeling of the flu, sick to your stomach, dizzy. Not swooshing and feeling faint. Not after 2 months of coming down from it. Go to the doc! Good luck.

You might want to go back on a "mini dose" for a few months and then half it and quarter it from there. I have heard that there is a liquid prozac that makes this process very easy and very painless as you can take very small amounts. You may want to ask your doc about this idea.
