Disability retirement?

You don't need three hospitalizations, I was hospitalized only once, and while I was there someone helped me to fill out my paperwork. I have heard that most people are turned down the first time they apply. My friend has multiple sclerosis and was obviously in very bad shape and initially she was turned down, the second time she applied she got it. I also was turned down the first time, the second time I got it. I have another friend that applied, was turned down, then went to a lawyer and got it. A lawyer is a good idea because they know what they are doing, but they get a fee out of your money. I don't know what opm is, I am not familiar with what retirement is, I think I got ssi. Like I said, a lawyer can help you, so could a social worker I think. I am bi polar. EDIT I'm in the U.S. EDIT Also you don't need to provide any medical records, all you have to do is list the places where there are medical records on you, they get the records from that information.
