Can stopping zoloft abruptly affect mood?

Question:
I was put on zoloft about 2 yrs ago for anxiety. Helped a lot and anxiety has been gone since a few weeks after starting. On occasion I forget to take (2x/week or so) and this past week I forgot to refill so I went 3-4 days w/o. Wondering if this can affect you mood (i.e. make you more irritable, etc.)

Answers:
no, it can make you extremely depressed, anxious, and suicidal

you need to discuss this with your doctor before stopping, he/she will need to taper you off the medication
hello there, stopping a medication all at once is not good, you need to taper off. and your mood can change, you should talk to your doctor.
You can have so many side effects when there is a sudden drop in your medication. For me, when I stopped my meds (without my doctor's permission) I was extremely dizzy for about three days. You may notice some anxiety starting to creep back and other feeling of depression. I would call your doctor and let her know that you have missed some doses, she may want ot keep a close eye on you to make sure you don't have an extreme relapse of symptoms.
yes definately! Do not stop taking cold turkey or skip doses.Stay under a dr. supervision. The side effects can be hazardous.
read ''its kind of a funny story by ned vizinni'' its self explanatory.
