Sounds like my 4-year-old nephew. An attention-seeker. Very common problem.
all men
Narcissist? I think I totally butchered the spelling, sorry.
Usually when I write it in my notes for my clients I just call it 'attention-seeking' behavior.

If it's more of a dramatic sense, then histrionic would apply... that's someone who overdramatizes.

If it's more an 'I-need-your-help' 'life is crumbling around me' type, then dependent may fit... dependent personality disorder?

If it's just 'hey! Look at what I can do!'... I'd call it just being a pain. ;-)
Histrionic or Narcisstic Personality

hypochondriac means your obsessed with medical diseases.
narcissistic is closer, because youre obsessed with yourself.
