Being shy is a very interesting way to be.

When I was in grade school I also had the same problem. I'd freeze up if the teacher asked me a question.

The problem is that you are too aware of how you are feeling.
You are focusing your thoughts on how you feel.

Most people are too busy thinking about themselves, thinking about 'what is in this for me', to really be paying attention to you.

Focus all your attention on improving your delivery technique. Read about speaking in public and create a system for yourself.

You can also do an exercise to improve your confidence.

Think about a time when you were very confident when you felt like you could talk on and on and never feel uncomfortable. Or, imagine how confident you would like to feel.

When you can really feel it all over take 3 deep breaths.

Then, when you are ready to go up to give your speech, again take 3 deep breaths. And remember that time you felt confident.

You will feel more confident and you will give the best speech of your life.

When you are anxious you tend to take very shallow breaths and that increases your anxiety. So, remember every so often when you are speaking to pause and take a deep breath.

It is the stage fear you have and it is common for many students have at your age. just to get out of that fear, teachers usually ask many students to come and to give a seminar/ lecture on the stage, to explain the lesson etc.. Dont worry. you can practice the leasons in front of the mirror and in front of your close classmates and then narrate the presentations slowly , later you will get used to that kind of giving lectures. you say that you are outgoing so have full confidence and just go ahead I know you will succeed. Best of luck..
I was really shy as a kid too. This is an issue that I shook and you have to shake over time, and only you can, just take small steps towards being less and less shy. Mostly it's a matter of confidence, if you have a report practice infront of someone, whether it be your parents, siblings, or friends. It helps to focus and known your stuff well, then you can focus on your presentation rather than worrying about your fellow students...good luck.
That's probably more common than you might think. I'd wager 90% of your classmates feel the same way. A good way to look at the situation is to realize how you feel as an audience member watching someone else's presentation. You could really care less what they're saying and you certainly aren't sitting there judging the person, right? Well, when you're up there speaking, the rest of the class is doing the same thing. Forget picturing them in their underwear. After you've done it a few times, it will get easier.
that used to happen to me alot i would get up in front of the class couldn't hardly breath and almost faint. you just need to take deep breaths and say to yourself that it is going to be fine and that your are going to get through this and it just takes time because the more you do it the more you get used to it and eventually you will be comfortable with getting up in front of the class. and something that has worked for some of my friends but not me is to picture everyone in their underwear!
