I can't sleep help!?


Question:
Every night for the last few weeks, I have been getting up in the middle of the night and just can't get back to sleep for like an hour or two later. It seriously ruins me in the morning.

I have many stressors that can be leading to this, but it's just so ridiculous.

1. There are many changes at my job and us employees are being thrown in the middle of it.

2. My uncle has been at my house fixing things up and he hasn't been very nice to me. (He owns the house and wants to sell it. This is causing me stress cause I would like to stay there.)

I guess I'm just paranoid about the entire situation of my life haha...just looking for advice to deal with this stuff and sleep better thanks!

I am all about fixing the problem rather than putting a band aid on it; however, while you are working through stress management techniques, you might consider temporarily taking a sleep aid if you are really struggling during the day. You need a certain amount of sleep to be able to function, and sometimes your body gets in the "habit" of waking up during the night. Taking a sleep aid (whether OTC or prescribed) for a few nights can help you get back on track. Don't do this instead of dealing with the real issue (likely the stress) but you may want to do it in addition.

Actually for what I've learned stressors in your life may be the only cause of what you are describing. Unless, you have been sick or some other reason. Changes in life may be difficult to get used to sometime so we have to "go with the flow" sometimes to make things go by quicker.

Having stress and handling it is normal in life and we all have to take it: We want to or not.
