Question:
On three seperate occasions I have woken up to a conscience state and been unable to move. The first time this happened to me I started to search for parts of my body that I could still control. I found that I could still move my toes, I later regained full control of my body. The second time I did the same thing and I was able to move my finger which I was aware was touching my wife's back. So I started to wiggle it as much as I could in an attempt to wake her up. But she only scooted away from me. Later when I regained full control we talked and she remembered me touching her back. Both of these times my eyes were open and I could see but everything was kind of blurred or distorted. The last time this happened to me is a little different. I gained some level of consiousness and I was aware I was sleeping on my stomach. Again I couldn't move. I was desperatly trying to open my eyes and eventually I did.when my eyes were open I couldn't see right like my brain wouldn't process it.

Hi I suffer with sleep paralysis but mine is on the onset of going to sleep, it sounds like sleep paralysis to me and I do know how scary it can be, I have found the calmer I stay the fast it will pass.
My sister has had that before. The doctor told her it was because when a person sleeps the brain releases chemicals to keep people from roaming around and getting hurt but for some reason some people start to wake up before the brain starts cutting back on these chemicals.
Yes, this sounds like sleep paralysis. I have been having this since I was a little kid. It is kind of scary at first. You do get used to it and realize you will regain control of your body if you just wait a few minutes. Its just like your mind wakes up before your body does is all.

I've had that happen when I was younger. I felt like I wanted to scream, but couldn't. I couldn't move, and a couple times it felt like someone was sitting on me. I've never seen anyone about it, because it stopped when I turned 16. It happens during REM, and there are studies done on it. If you want you can see a doctor about it. In the mean time you could read about it. There's a lot of articles on it. Good luck, hope it doesn't last a long time.
It sounds like it. I don't know much about it. Have you checked it out with, first, physical doctor, and second, psychiatrist?
