How do you deal with anger toward an authority figure?

Question:
I'm having difficulty holding on to work positions because I am too sensitive to criticism and begin to really dislike any with authority over me. Even though I recognize it, I can't change this trend. Is counseling the best route to go? I am bipolar and see a psychiatrist regularly (medication has help resolve other issues). Thanks so much.

Answers:
Most of us feel that way - authoritive figures in society or the workplace always act as if they are so much better or important than others, so they talk to people and do things to others that are unfair and unequal. Everyone bleeds, has to eat to live, etc., so whether you're bi-polar or not isn't the issue; it's the proud a**holes you seem to keep running into. Believe me, everyone isn't like that.

I truly wish I could tell you, but if it's any comfort to you, I am 67 years old and I STILL have a problem with authority figures.
