Is there a name for this mental health issue I have?
Question:
Answers:
The medication side effect is just called "sedation".
The other thing is familiar from my training in Transactional Analysis. I can't recall the name for it, but basically it's the idea that when you are thinking certain thoughts, another part of your mind is upset by it. (Say, your Child part is thinking it is angry at your boss and your incorporated Parent part thinks that is a "wrong" thing to think, so it gives you a shock like that, to punish you). It's that sort of thing. Just to be sure, you may have a cardiologist/ neurologist check it out, to be sure it's nothing physical. Otherwise, ask your therapist to do some Gestalt therapy 2-chair technique work with you, where the "shocker" part discusses with the "shocked" part, what's going on, & is there a better way to communicate about these issues?
I don't think there is a name for this, but it should be discussed with your psychiatrist. Sounds like you need a different medicationl
You see a Psychologist, but have you been checked out by a medical doctor...my suggestion is from experience believe me.I have 10K in new medical bills to prove it.
I know what Panic Attacks are, my first one was when I was 15.
I know what post traumatic stress disorder is also...
What I had was an attack due to High Blood Pressure!!
Can you believe it?...10K to tell me I have that..
I don't know how to describe it other than an impending sense of doom, like a panic attack, but "you know something just ain't right", and it's not like any panic attack you've ever experienced.
IF, you have any similarities to what I just wrote, please, go to your clinic, or Health Department and get your blood pressure checked...Stress and/or worrying can make your blood pressure soar! And if your health isn't too great, or you smoke or drink, or if your always under stress/pressure, life isn't so spiffy, shoot, it could be anything....
They put people on Blood pressure med's, and anti depressants, they both help each other..I personally don't like the anti depressants, I am not the let's be a Zombie type, but I do take the Blood Pressure med's, and haven't had an episode since....It may not be that.but worth checking out..Best of luck to ya'.
