Depression?

Question:
I feel like I am losing it big time. I have dealt with a roomie in jail, work issues, dealing with a job that I am blessed to have...but I feel like crying. I am on medication and will see a psychiatrist soon...but right now, I want to just crawl in a hole and sleep for several hours...
help...

Answers:
Take a deep breath. Not to sound insensitive, but things can always be worse than what they are. You may be going through some difficult times, but just know that it is okay to cry and be depressed. Just how depressed you are is what you need to question. Go out and do something for you. Breathe, and realize just how lucky you are.
Try and speak to a person you trust and share the problem , you feel better after it .
shame..i think what you should do instead is crawl in a hole.curl up and hope to goodness nothing ELSE bad happens to you..the only person i feel sorry for is your psychiatrist..having to listen to your self pity once a week..suck it up! people have real problems. so selfish.
you need to keep taking your meds and think of the good things you have going on in your life, like your job and loved ones. The best way to help battle the depression is to keep yourself busy. I know you just want to sleep, but you should force yourself to go for a walk or visit a friend, it willkeep your mind off things. laying around will only make you think more. Get up and do something, the busier you are the better off you will be. Good luck

The worst thing you can do right now is isolate yourself. Get motivated to go out and do something that you enjoy. Today is just one day, and you will get through it. You have a healthy body and that is a blessing. Your work issues should not affect you so much that it disturbs your personal life. Perhaps your medication or dosage is wrong and you may need to try something different.
This is classical depression. I too feel like just going to sleep at inappropriate times. For me, it's like hitting the "reset" button, because when I wake up, I feel better. Since you are on the meds and seeing a counselor soon, you'll need to keep yourself in check until then. I suggest reading books on depression in the interim so that you understand the disease better.

Good luck.
