Question:
I think i have a problem of panic attacks cause constantly I start thinking about horrible things like horrible ways of dying and stuff like that and then i start feeling bad like nauseos and like running away to a bathroom or just a lonely and quiet place, and then i get scared cause i don't know what to do and i start feeling like i'm gonna explode or freak out or have a heart attack or something like that. and i get nervous really easily, I don't go out much cause when I go out i start feeling nervous without reason and then i feel like i wanna throw up or just run away!!. It's really hard for me cause I don't even can get a job cause I'm afraid I may start feeling like that and that would be horrible so I just can't get a job until I control this problem. When that happens I try to think about happy things and stuff like that but it's just too hard!!, i don't know what to do, i don't want to feel like this cause because of that i can't enjoy my life and I'm only 18! =[ please help

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear you are feeling bad. The following steps will eliminate (or at least significantly reduce) your panic attacks:

1.Breathe properly - if you control your breathing, you control panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better.

2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy! CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for panic attacks, OCD and anxiety etc. It takes a bit of work, but it is super effective. (After 15 years of panic attacks, mine stopped completely). You can speak to your doctor about taking a course or you can take a course for free online at: www.livinglifetothefull.com

3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really make a difference if you practise often enough (i.e. twice a day). They will also help you sleep better if done at bedtime. You can get free downloads online. E.g.: http://www.studentservices.utas.edu.au/c...

With each step practise makes perfect. (i.e. practise the steps every day, not just when you are feeling bad). I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck!
don't waste time just go to a good homeopathic doctor and explain the above situation.. they work on symptoms
This does sound like panic attacks to me. I think you should consider seeing a psychiatrist about this, because they have some good methods (both with medication and without) that may help you find ways to handle tough situations more easily.
Good luck!
Please talk to a professional (doctor, psychologist) as fast as possible. You're probably suffering from panic attacts and anxiety, and that can only be treated with professional help. The longer you put off going to the doctor, the more horrible the attacks become, they already mess with your life.
My uncle suffers from symptoms of panic attack similar to what you have described. I have minor depression and occassionally experience much milder panic attacks. I receive SSRI antidepressant treatment, which makes the attacks less frequent. You need to see a doctor and see if they can write you a good prescription. YouQA.com is not the place to make a diagnosis and suggested treatment. But there is my advice for what it is worth.
Go to the doctor. They can give you a prescription for your anxiety. I know the feeling. Panic attacks can be caused by many different things. Closed/tight spaces, loud places, slow traffic when you're already late for work. You find you can't breathe and start sweating. Feels like your heart will fly out of your chest it's beating so hard. Believe it or not, medicine does help SO SO MUCH. Go to your doctor. He can help you find a medicine that is right for you. My panic attacks did actually interfere with school and my job until I got them under control. I couldn't present in front of the class and I couldn't handle the stress of work. It took me 3 medicines to have one finally work. But I am so glad I can live normally again.

Mine did start right after one of my best friends killed himself and the thought of death also stayed in my mind a lot. It was all I thought about.

I'm so sorry, I hope you can recover and I hope it's soon.
Hey freak, your problem is that you're too scared like a scaredy ***** cat, always afraid like a mouse. Just think, what could possibly the worst thing that will ever happen to you? Eg if you die, then there's nothing to worry cos you can't cos you're already dead. Let things happen to you bad or good and just be grateful for it. Like Nietsche said, "If it won't kill you, it's going to make you stronger." But one thing I can say right now is that you will live the worst life if you do nothing due to your fears. It's better to have the worst bad luck but you live your life your way with what you want etc.
Hi,
It sounds like there is a lot of fear and anxiety going on in your life .I am sorry you are suffering like that. Go see a mental health professional so you start to feel better and regain control of your thoughts and feelings.

Best wishes
ok, first off, stop running from your panic attacks. you can't outrun them, and they cannot kill you. Panic attacks are just uncomfortable. (i have been suffering from them for years) You need to tell yourself that while you are having the attack. The worst fear is the fear of another attack, whic will lead to another attack. It's just your body's natural defenses kicking into overdrive. It senses danger that is not really there and is all in the mind. Your heart races, you feel faint, or short of breath, as if someone was chasing you in a horror movie. Panic attacks are caused by a number of things, but you need to get to the root of it in order to solve them.
I think you would benefit from seeing a therapist, and/or getting some medication to help you along. I take zoloft, and it has worked like a charm. There is no shame in this condition either, its waaaay more common than you think. 1 out of every 5 people has some form of this problem. If therapy seems a little out of the way for you, get this book
"Feeling good the new mood therapy" by Charles Burns. but in order for the book to help, you need to read it, and put the work in. I was so bad i lost the best job i have ever had, and became afraid to leave my home. This book helped alot (my therapist reccomended it)
anyway the first step is to recognize the problem, you did that. now do a little research on the net about anxiety disorders. chances are you will feel better being educated on the subject, and you may be able to figure out what it is you are telling yourself to bring these feelings on.

Do not be afraid, what you are experiencing is normal

It sounds to me like you need to find ways of keeping yourself busy..when we get bored, we have a tendency to let our thoughts run away with us.our thoughts start spiraling thinking about negative things which in turn not only get us in trouble but bring negative energy into our lives.do not say I can't..only I will, I can...use only positive affirmations

do not wait until you feel this way to do something about it, take preventive measures so that you do not get yourself in that state of mind..pick up a hobby, take Yoga, exercise, focus on the positive things in life which are far too many, go outdoors, look at the beauty all around you..nature has a way of making us grounded, letting us know just what special beings we really are...

your mind is a powerful conductor of energy, so it is really up to you, you are in control...do not build yourself up to the level where you find yourself losing control, learn breathing techniques that will help you relax (I suggest you use a brown paper bag and inhale and exhale slowly into it, this will help relax you)..you will see your panic attack will be over before it started, but do it)...

Be thankful to be alive..do not for one moment take for granted this gift that has been given to you..think of how many people would love to be in your place and can't..be grateful, but above all be positive and I guarantee you will see some of that positive energy return to you and improve your life...

Your life is just beginning, you are young, strive to be happy..Best of luck to you!<3
The panic is from a chemical memory made during a psychotic event and it wont erase easily. Time will allow it to wear off if you can keep busy with a hobby or such an activity that you do alone. You will know what song or words or place is triggering the memory to activate the panic. You will need to take a vacation is all.
