I am very much addicted towards TV what can i do to prevent it?

find some other interests that you may or have liked in the past that are outside of your home. hobbies in the home can be done in front of the tv, which defeats the purpose. so, something outside of the home including music on an mp3 player, sporty type things outside, friends that have interests outside the home you'd like to try. reading a book outside that interests you. only other drastic move which seems to fail is unplugging or breaking the tv. you'll end up remembering how to plug it back in for that quick tv bliss, or buying a new one, which can become not only addicting, but expensive.
I think you should watch TV, that always helped me.
chuck it outta the window. good luck! =p

Me too..what's your favorite show?
According to the book below, one technique is this:
When you watch TV, first mute all the commercials.
Next, keep the mute on for just one extra minute into the show, each time, and when they show the credits, mute that, too.
Then, increase the mutes to 2 & 3 minutes, each time.
Another thing I've found with my kid channel-surfing, is if you watch 3-4 shows at once, you can actually keep track of all 4 shows, & you realize you don't need to watch every minute of every show. If the phone rings, take the call & miss the show. You know you can catch the show when it's a rerun.
Don't watch any reruns.
Don't start watching new shows, or new series.
Develop a new, fascinating, hobby, & do it during some of the more boring shows you used to watch. Or, watch a DVD instead of a few shows, 2-3 nights a week.
Those things will help, over time.
In totally am in sync with you. I understand what its like I cant turn it off! But I try to find something else to do instead of TV but hey Tv is not so bad ive actually learned more from tv then I have at school lol.
