ive worked at blockbuster for a couple years now. i remember when i first started. it did seem difficult learning the computer system. did they start out by having you just watch someone else run the register for that first day? and maybe let you do some transactions, while they watched over you? thats what should of happened. trust me, youll catch on quickly and it'll all become easy as pie . its a new job and obviously its gonna need some getting use to. do you work at a corporate store or a franchise? i currently work at a franchise but have worked at a corporate before. Ask your supervisers and co-workers how to do the job.
It's normal to have these feelings at a new job. Find a co-worker to be friends with, and get help from that person. Maybe take them to lunch (you pay), and ask how they suggest you can keep up better. You can ask your supervisor for some tips, too.
If you've had job problems like this before, then go to a counselor for some tips on stress reduction & coping better at work.
Ask for more training
and tell the customers to STFU and wait.
Don't worry...you just started. It will take some time to get used to everything.
Or quit and go work at a library where it is quiet and people aren't rushed.
i can understand the difficulties you are going through. if you are not happy with your job you really need to switch jobs. if you dread going in everyday it is not worth it. find another job you will be happier.
Shoot, you really aren't supposed to know what you're doing for AT LEAST a week. Every new job is difficult to get used to, but if you really don't like it, spend your free time looking for a better one. Good luck!
you are just started to work at that place. I guess you need to be little patient about the situation. It does take time for a person to adjust in any new situation. I am sure if you give some time to yourself, you will do fine.
whenever you get depressed, think about the positive stuff of the job, like think about the money that you will be getting, and then after paying the bills, you can spend your own money on something that you always wished to buy.
Every job teaches you one thing or the other, so never be negative towards the situation, it will definitely bring smile on your face one day.
And also if they are not training you correctly, often ask questions to them, i am sure they will help you out.
There are always some positives and negatives of every situation, you need to train your mind to look towards positives, so you can make the most out of it.
All the best to you!!
