Question about Ambien?

Question:
I was prescribed Ambien 10 mg to help me sleep. I think it takes longer for me to fall asleep when i take, then i wake up feeling groggy. Has anyone else experienced this with ambien? For what the pills cost i was expecting much more.

Answers:
Yes, I have had the same experience. I have tried a whole host of sleeping aids and nothing has worked very well. I would talk to your doctor and see if he can prescribe something different, or something to take with Ambien at night. Ambien and other products also gave me bad nightmares.
i took ambien for quite some time and it helped me. one of the suggestions given me by the pharmacy was to take it on an empty stomach, helping the drug to take effect faster. make sure you give yourself a full night's sleep, approx 8 hours, otherwise you'll definitely be groggy in the morning. it made me a bit tired when i first got up, but helped me sleep better. good luck.
they really worked for me but i quit taken them because my wife caught me sleep walking and eating in my sleep. I gained 20 pounds before we realized what was happening so watch out. I take trazadone now and it works just as well without the sleep walking/eating
take it about an hour before you go to bed. They say you need to be able to sleep 7-8 hours for the effects wear off. If you think it's too strong for you, just ask your doctor. I use Trazadone
I was on Ambien for two years. When I first started it, I did take it on an empty stomach. In 10-15 minutes, I was literally running into walls or sliding down the wall and sitting on the floor. Like duh! Do allow at least 7 hours to sleep; 8 is better or you will wake up groggy.

I also would have eating binges (like a jar of peanut butter) that I could barely remember the next morning. If I received a phone call, I would answer and talk and make sense to the caller, but could not remember anything the next day. OMG, I could have sold my first-born and not remember it. Callers started asking if I had taken my pill yet. If yes, they would call back the next day.

As time went on, the sleeping effect weakened. Then it did not work at all. I was put on other medication to help getting and staying asleep.

It was great for a while though.
I had taken a pill one night while I was emailing my cousin and well the next day, I read her reply after she replied back to me and WHAT was I on. JUST Ambine. I wrote about witches and all kind of things.
And I couldn't take them 2 days in a row because I felt terrible the next day.
Or some nights I could not sleep at all.
I took myself off them.
I now take melatonin (in the vitamin aisle, and have found relacore pm's help me relax enough to get to sleep and no side effects like the big drug name PM
