Bipolar disorders are diagnosed by medical doctors, and sometimes counselors working with doctors. There are a number of physical and psychological things which are NOT bipolar disorder, but have some of the same symptoms. Some of the tests might be expensive blood work, checking lithium or hormones or even blood sugar and insulin. Can you get medically diagnosed and treated without your parents or some legal guardian? in the US, generally no. You need to talk to your parents and a doctor.

YOu can go to any health departmet and ask them if you may have help withthat without needing to invoplve your parents.

IF you are bipolar your parents are probably some what aware of the fact that you have behavioral issues. So I wonder hay do you not want ot involve them.

Relaize this that almost evbery teen ager in the cournty is bipolar for about 7 years it is a 'normal' part of puberty. The best htings to do is to eat a diet of lots of fresh fruits and raw vegetables and little of anything else. That wil help reverse the bi p[olar nature. LOtrs of minerals ( they come to us best through fresh frutis nad raw vegetables.

Realize that a perosn who is bi polar is having a problem withthe way their mind works. It is not some thign to be ashjamed of any more than if you had a wound on your leg and needed to use a cructch. UNfortunately we often put a lot of mean lables and steryotypes on this but we should not. And realiuze thiis that if you leg does not work that is one thing but bi plolar does not mean stupid or that you donot have mental capacity. You can be bi polar nd intelligent.

A psychiatrist is the one you would see for a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. If you are a minor you will need to be accompanied by your parent. Do you have severe mood swings, depression one day and other days manic behavior? Talk to your parents about your concerns.
