My mind is erasing and/or altering memories?

Thank you for serious answers.

While my first suggestion to what this may be, is most likely the least probable I am going to lead off with it, only because it has not yet been mentioned. A brain tumor can cause this type of thing to occur. Now that I have said that, I do not want you to think that it is very probable for a 14 year old to have such. It is possible, but least probable of all things.
What is most likely is that your bad experiences are leaving a much bigger footprint in your memories than your pleasant memories. This is actually a common effect, and it is based upon the theory of probable expectations. To enlighten this subject a bit more, I would turn to the idea of burning your hand on a stove. This would leave a very big footprint on your memory as a bad thing. You would also more likely dwell upon this bad memory more. As you dwell on it, it gets a bigger and stronger piece of your memory bank. Much bigger than say the time your mother took you clothes shopping. That event, while pleasant, would not be dwelt upon nearly as often and as such, would slowly disappear from your short-term memory banks.
I hope this helps.
The same thing is happening to me, i can't remember the good memories; but never fail to remember the bad.
I don't know if its called anything, but hope you find a solution :)
You are just getting old. See a shrink if you can't sleep see a shrink.
You're not weird. ha!
Bad memories, especially if they are associated with some tramatic event always are more easily remembered. As far as the good things go if you want to remember them, repeat the experience in your mind you will.
you need to see a doctor. you do have a problem
Happens to me all the time, its like my life is a bad memory if you wanna look at it that way. normally tramatic or just negative things stick with a person more often then good, kinda like a defense. ur not wierd or tainted thats just like. excersize your mind more and evaluate the situations your in.
I was diagnoised w being paraniod schytzophrenic, border line personality disorder, PTS, manic depressive and bi-polar, so just to let you know, u dont have the worst thing in the world to worry about, go see a dr. if your truely concerned.
The correct terms for this is erasing the expectations and the beliefs. The memories are still there somewhere. We can have beliefs that allow us to ignore seeing something bad that really happened. Later when reality hits home we have to face these memories. Happiness is for those who expect reality . Romance is the worst way to build expectations that are false. When beliefs are erased the upper brain releases a waste chemical into the fluid and the lower brain can be affected to bring down your heart rate and breathing rate. This is caller depression and it hurts.
same thing happened with me while I was your age. I didn't remember a lot of anything (people, names, places, experiences, girlfriends...I really used to get in some bad sh*t for that one because girls I had dated would come up to me and I wouldn't remember them at all). I've always been more inclined to remember things that I've read...I guess I should have kept a daily log with pictures and stuff to review. I wish I knew what was up with that.
I hope you find the answer you are looking for.
