Well, I get depressed also, what helps me is to just spend time with friends. Whether or not I really want to in the beginning, by the end my mood is a lot better. I know that depression is not a thing that can be switched off and on, but it's helpful sometimes to just keep my mind occupied. In my opinion, depression turns you against yourself. So the less time spent by yourself the better.
Walk through woods in the day time, and look at the leaves. An actual forest, not some in town s.hit. Also, working out is a depression killer. Run a lot, or lifting weights. Eat natural foods, and you wont feel nasty, and guilty eating s.hit. One day of eating well makes you feel really good about yourself, and also IS good for you. Do fun things like go to the bars, or do things you wouldn't ordinarily do, like sky dive, or something nuts. The more you expose yourself to crazy things, your neurons in your brain change form, and shape. You can actually grow more dendrites by doing "happy" things.
Journaling helps me and I have a severe depression disorder. Try to fight the urge to close yourself up or lay down. Open your blinds. Talk to at least one person a day about the way you feel.
i dont necesarily have a depression problem, but im very paranoid and always thinking negatively, which often leads to me being depressed.
is there anyway where i can just think postively, i try it but then ill think of something which just puts me back down. :S
