Why Am I Miserable?
Question:
I'm also a college student; however, I'm at risk for having to drop out because I can't afford the tuition. This is my last year.
I just feel my motivation and zesty for life have been smoothered within the last year. I use to be so motivated and even the worst situation had a light at the end. But, nowadays, I can't seem to even get out of bed in
Answers:
Aww, how sad. Umm, don't just give up yet, there's always a way out, no matter how hard it is. Now it's you who's paying the tuition fee right, well try getting a second job, or ask for a raise. Well if not get a really close relative who has the money to pay for your tuition fee, like they'll loan you the money and you can pay it off until you get a job, I don't know. Umm, yeah, don't give up just yet, it's not over until it's over. I feel really sorry for you, have your friends help you, if your friends actually care.
dont quit, life will finally turn your way not far from now, just hold on and you will reep the benefits.
im pulling for ya!!
It happens to the best of us.
In a matter of weeks, my family lost our house fire, got our credit cards stolen, and a loved one was diagnosed with HPV, witnessed a car accident, the list goes on and on.
Life sucks, sometimes, but, like I said, I think it happens to the best of us. I keep telling myself whatever happens, happens for a reason, and whatever's thrown at me, is thrown at me because I can handle it.
Keep your head up, and hold on. Don't forget to look for the little things in life. And, whatever you do, make the most of the time you have with your family!
yeah we all go through rough times in our lives, i just finally found some balance in mine by finally getting a full time job after about 5 or 6 months looking, i was barely affording college. I would suggest you do anything you can to finish college. If it's your last year then get it done, it will make things better when you start your career. take student loans or loans from your bank or wherever just finish college. then after that you may have to make a move to a state with a good job market if your state doesn't. I know i will, i live in michigan and the job market is horrible here. you just gotta work through the hard times to get to the best times. good luck!!
What i have found in my life is that the only time i feel miserable or depressed was when i allowed myself to feel that way.
We have absolute control over our own minds and our own thoughts, when bad things come my way there is always a choice within my own mind to let it affect me, or not.
Once i learned to stop letting the outside world influence my inside world i became much happier all the time.
Life has ups and downs, thats just the way it is. I have had many trials in life like everyone else has, illness, work, family, i could go into specifics but i now choose not to dwell on the negative, instead to focus on the positive.
One last thing that i have now found as a constant source of strength is to stop for a moment, empty my mind of all other thoughts, to concentrate on only my own breathing, and to think to myself, just for a moment, how amazing it is that i am alive and that i am breathing. that no matter what happens that i am alive now in this moment and that there is always hope for a better future.
Sorry to hear what you are going through.
There is one thing I am certain is that the possible employer will notice at the invterviews that you are "feeling down" even if you smile. Don't give up!!
See if you can talk to a doctor. if you don't have insurance there are low or no cost clinics.
It sounds like you have temporary depression and medications/therapy might be able to help you. Good Luck and again don't give up.
Don't worry hun. Well have times like these, and just remember times like these only makes us stronger, and that is so true. Because its an experience that not everyone gets to experience [not that they'd want to] but i think everyone who goes through hardships in their life is very lucky because to me it seems as if its better that way. Because when more hits us, and pushes us back, the more we just want to fight, and keep going. I've been through a lot with my family, and we had nothing but hardships, but because of the setbacks, we're ready for anything and any task we know we can accomplish because of our experiences. People who don't experience these hardships and labor, and just have their shoes put on for them everyday, couldn't handle a day without maids, nannys, whatever.
So, you know what; you're doing wonderfully. Atleast you're looking for jobs, atleast you've made it to college, atleast you are the person that you are that wants to go forward and succeed, that alone is your motivation. You don't need to down yourself, because you've got no reason to. You're just in a tough spot right now, and all you need to do is breathe, and plan something out. Because you sound a bit exhausted, which im not surprised, you just need to take things day by day. Don't think of every problem all at once. Think about one, then plan out how you might go about fixing it, then the other.
You'll get through, trust me.
xx
P.S. I'm sorry about your father, and you. My grandma had cancer as well. And we ALWAYS have family problems; its like never-ending!
and im only fifteen so..pssshh. ahah. but as a fifteen year old, i have been through WAY more than most adults have, thats why i'm letting you know this now; so you don't give up on something that will succeed and go forwward because you don't see it in yourself. But you have it, and every moment makes you stronger; and you'll come to find it, in the end one day when you're talking to your kids, you'll be telling them that too!
Take care, all my wishes to you and your family. C:
xx
in stead of looking at the things as bad look at wat lesson u could learn
from them any way ur bad luck can only go so far then u will have a tone of goodluck
you might be suffering from a little bit of depression. do something fun even if you can't afford it. get in the budget some how. it will take your mind off all the bad stuff for a few hours and you will fell refreshed. and don't give up on college see if you can get a student loan for the final year or take your final classes on at a time it may delay gradation but you will still finish.
What ever you do keep you head held high.as the old saying goes. this 2 shall pass
hi, don't live for tomoro, don't live for yesterday, don't bother what others are thinking of you .just live for yourself, and then you fill fiind that life is beautiful.
I know it's a easy thing to say but it's completely true. Everyone has bad times in their life. You just need to concentrate on what you need to do and stick with it. Try as hard as you can to stay in school because you never know if some how or another you don't go back. Just think of getting your self out of this rut and it's seems like it will heal up. Your future is so important don't let your hopes die then you die with it. It is a rut and that's all. Good luck!
PS:I am very sorry about your father. I hope God keeps him around for your sake.
Adding:I know it's sounds simple. The hang in there thing but in reality that's all you can do. You are looking for a quick fix and there is not ones. Write every single thing down that is haunting your mind. Sometimes that help me out just to see rather than it jumbling around in my mind. You may trying talk to someone here. I am willing, so if you want to I can try and help. I promise to give you a little more than 'hang in there'.
happiness is right here without looking for it.
the looking for it takes it away, so just stop seeking after it.
you're miserable because you're comparing & looking to the external to fulfill you.
the world is there to frustrate you and not to satisfy you by worldly standards.
if you're frustrated that means you're not doing the inner work that would make the world a secondary concern.
the inner work starts by letting it be (allowing what is) and being here totally
stop trying to get somewhere else or to achieve something you don't have yet.
you already have everything you seek, if you stop seeking
i can understand what your going through I've had a lot of terrible things happen to me for a while and being young its harder because u feel like u cant really do anything . i mean u seek an answer but sometimes u don't get one . u don't know what to do . the worst thing to do is sit inside and do nothing because then ur really getting no where, and caz ur getting no where u feel even shittier! bad things are always going to happen they may even happen mostly at the same time . it just depends how u handel them when they come! like going to skool n having a job especially in college, bills taxes family is very hard! I don't know what to say about u not being able to go to school any more it sucks!
what i did was i started to do things that made me happy like even going to the beach, hanging out with ppl, listing to music!maybe you should go do something that makes u happy, like take a day off, all to yourself dont worry about anything eles! Try to take all your worries out of your mind and just enjoy that day like its the last day of your life, REMEMBER(this day is all for you) then the next day take it slow go out put in a application or 2 go to skool whatever you have to do that day then slowly take it from there dont think u have to do it all like that day . caz then youll get stressed out more . well i hope it helps you out
