I think that I OCD because I often feel the need to make lists?

Question:
Some times I think of alot of things i need to do in my head then I get this urge to make a list of everything I need to do or get. Could this be a symptom of OCD?

Answers:
i don't think that's OCD. that is a GOOD habit! people who make checklists are usually very successful and focused. if you see what you need to do and check it off, you are more likely to finish the next chore.

OCD is when a habit (good or bad) gets in the way of your daily life. if you are making lists for hours at a time and not doing anything else, then yes, you might have a problem.
could be.
go to a professional/doctor for complete
details as to what your problem is.
good luck.
Everyone is a little complusive about certain things. Everyone has little quirks and things they like "just so." If these things become debilitating and interfere with your ability to function, that's when it becomes a mental illness. It's okay to like being organized as long as it helps you function rather than hindering.
Oh boy... I always have lists... I don't think it's OCD unless you are constantly obsessing on these things... you might just be anal. :)
As someone with OCD, I suggest you see your doctor and a psychologist to get properly diagnosed and if needed, begin treatment before it gets worse. good luck
I do the same thing but i don't think it's ocd cuz i rarely complete anything on them
wow ppl are obseesed with diagnosing ocd. just cause it bothers you to make a list doesnt mean its ocd. and add is overdiagnosed to. just cause a kids hyper doesnt mean hes add hes a goddamn kid for gods sake theyre sposed to be hyper and distracted easily
if it is, then I must have a very bad case of it because I have lists & notes all over the place. on the computer, in the computer with sounds to remind me to check my lists. I feel like my mind is going.

I am seeing a shrink once a month and a councelor twice a week.

it's normal to make lists so you do everything that you want to do or get, but if you feel like it's an obsession, a councelor is very helpful. trust me.
As you see my name, I am a sufferer from severe OCD.

I believe you DO NOT have OCD. Everybody has some urges. If you had OCD and you felt that you needed to write down your list, then you would do that even if your loved one begged you not to. You would do that first and then realized that foe example your infant is crying. If you wouldn't prepare the list, you would feel extreme anxiety and it wouldn't let you do anything until you prepared your list. Fear of something bad is going to happen would kill you.
So don't worry, it is not OCD and it is just a very simple urge. OCD urges can dysfunction a person from normal life.
Good luck
