What are you suppose to do if you're depressed and are too shy and afraid to ask for help?

Well, you just did ask for help so that's a great first step. Find somebody you really like and respect, such as a teacher, older friend or somebody from your church, and ask them what they think. A lot of shy people think everybody's talking about them, looking at them and that everybody is worried about what they do and it's not true! Everybody is too worried about their own problems to be watching you, so have fun and be yourself, don't worry about pleasing other people or being popular. Popular people are just people everybody knows, it doesn't mean anybody likes them any more than they like you! Take care, DCR. PS: Appreciate the friends you have even if they're not perfect because they're the ones who care about you.
I'd say talk to a friend, or someone because depression can lead to other things and there are ways to help.
If you think you need help, there is no alternative to overcoming your fears and asking for it.

well ya know... it's not unnatural or uncommon to be depressed. you shouldnt just try to deal with it alone b/c often times it will only get worse. i myself used to have this same problem. you just need to buck up the courage and talk to someone... anyone... dont be afraid. there are other ppl out there that are just like you. the best thing you can do for yourself is find the help that you need, whether it's from a doc or a friend.
well if it is you thay is depressed, you already took your fist step, depression is nothing to be embarrased about, and you really need to talk to someone,we wouldnt want anything to happen to you,so please talk to a freind,or a family member, and get some help getting in contact to a doctor.
I wasn't "shy" about my depression but I was afraid to ask for help because I thought it was a sign of weakness. I didn't seem to realize that if I had cancer or some other disease I wouldn't hesitate to go for help. So...I just ignored my symptoms and figured I could beat them. Eventually they almost devoured me and I was forced to get help. I am very thankful today that I failed in my suicide attempt. I am so grateful that I take medication and it controls my clinical depression. I am also grateful that I am now happier and stronger than I have ever been in my life.best wishes
