Is there anyone out there thats memory from childhood is blank?

Yes, and I believe it was a reaction to stress/conflict within the family. As far as I can work out for myself I was afraid a lot as a child and disappeared off into my own world with things I could handle and blocked out as much as possible.
I don't think it was a conscious choice just a protection.
I've never discussed this with anyone.
I do remember the good things that happened just not the day to day stuff.
Memorable times are as clear as crystal and I still use those memories today.
5-11 are pretty much empty years. Hope this helps with the question.
From birth to age 12 I don't remember things as a child.
12 and now I can remember things.
Mine isn't blank, but it is vastly scattered at best.
I remember very little from my childhood. And my childhood was far from being horrible. It wasn't the best, but it was certainly tolerable.
I don't remember anything from First Grade to Sixth...I don't know, none of those school years really stick out in my mind. I remember kindergarten because it was the first year of school you know all the other cute little 5 year olds. And after that the first year I remember is sixth grade because it's like wow I'm a cool middle schooler.
Some of my friends bring up these moments with a teacher or something and I'm just like I have no idea who you are talking about. I also don't remember family trips or anything. I guess nothing really special happened during those years.
Yes. And my name is Sarah as well. I can't remember alot, anything before the age of 8. I do know that both my parents were alcoholics.Our house was INFESTED with roaches, I did not have any friends, and i acted up in school. I believe that is a defense mechanism known as "repression".
