I'm having panic attacks almost every week. please help.?

Question:
i'm not diagnosed but i dont want to find out i have panic disorder. i know all about them but i dont want to worry my family.
how can i get rid of them without drawing attention from others?

Answers:
You deserve the attention necessary to go to your doctor, get diagnosed and get on some type of anxiety medication. I take Ativan 2 mg for panic attacks. Most doctors start you out with .5 mg. That's a small dose and that can help relieve the symptoms. Just take the medication as prescribed and you will be back to normal in no time.

You will draw more attention from others if you have a panic attack in front of them. I had one at work one time and my coworkers had to call an ambulance for me because my whole body went numb and I couldn't walk. It was terrible. Everyone said I was on drugs and I was embarrassed.

Panic attacks are quite common and easily treated. Don't worry. Your family will be glad you've taken the cure. Good Luck!
My husband has these too. He is also weary of people learning of it. He refuses to take drugs for it. The doctor suggested his panic attacks are a result of stress...the prescription was exercise and doing more of what he most enjoys. Your best bet is to go to your doctor and confide in him/her.
stop worrying about your panic attacks.. i think your worried bout when you will have your next one and this just could be triggering it. relax. live and enjoy life..
I doubt you can do this on your own. You need to seek out an analyst and find out the root of the problem causing this. I don't know how old you are, but if in school just talking to a counselor might help..and they could refer you to someone with experience handling such a situation. Good Luck to YOU
i get them 2 i take metatoprol as needed and lexapro daily ur family will probably relieved cause ur panic attacks have to worry them. There no shame in getting help for a problem that lots of people have as a result of chemistry/biology not failure!
Really, you should seek out a therapist. Panic Attacks are nothing to be ashamed of. Most of us mildly suffer from them. If you see a therapist and figure out what the cause of the anxiety is coming from, you can treat it. I have had night terrors for years which is just a form of panic attacks and anxiety. I had it treated, and I'm happy to say I haven't had one in about 2 years. The medication is only temporary, so don't be ashamed of that either. You're 100% normal!
