If I don't get help for my OCD, will it get worse?

Question:

Answers:
Probably. My husband has OCD and it kept getting worse year by year. He finally got some "Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy", and it worked wonders. He is really doing well now. You wouldn't even notice he has OCD unless you really pay attention.
It could get worse. I had OCD, and i still kind of do. It was pretty bad. But my parents didnt do anything, and some of it sorta went away on its own. Maybe it will for you. It depends on how bad you have it. But if your worried, do get help. Good luck!
Yes dear. You really should look in to talking to someone. With any disorder, it can get worse over time.
Yes it does get worse! I had it all my life. 2 years ago I started seeing a therapist. She helped me understand where, why, and how. I still have it a little, but I'm much better. If you go to a psychiatrist, they'll just want to medicate you. It's up to you, but I recommend talking to somebody, it will make you feel so much better. I wish you the best of luck, and keep your head up!!
It might do, it might not.
However, it is unlikely to get better without help.
Not necessarily. OCD is usual if not always brought on my anxiety. I think everybody has a little OCD anyway, they'd just rather classify it as a "quirk!". At one time I'd find myself counting things, checking and rechecking things. Usually when I was stressed out about stuff that kept my mind racing like I was in the Indy 500! I had to deal with my anxiety and constant state of worry because it was making me feel like a crazed lunatic! I was diagnosed with anxiety, duh... and depression. All that counting and checking and worrying just wore me out, Then I'd over analize stuff and get drained mentally and depressed. The OCD wasn't the issue, but just another perk to my mood disorder. I take Paxil and the world is a much calmer place. I rarely do my count-everything-quirk, I worry less, but I got kid's and that's my job!, and I can't remember the last time I drove 10 miles back home just to recheck that I turned off my curling iron! Paxil saved my sanity and gas!! If you feel like your OCD is drivin' you nutso, go see a doc. It helped me!
ocd is tricky so I think it depends..but like mine is caused by stress, so whatever it is that im stressing over becomes the "bad thing that will happen if I dont do that", the bigger the stress, the worse the ocd is..and you cant really predict it.

So, yeah you should probably find someone to help you, because if something triggers it, then yes it can get worse.
Typically, symptoms do increase and come out in different ways in ones life. You should see a doctor b/c there are basic medications that can improve your life if you want the symptoms to stop. Some people who have OCD like their routines and do not want to take medication.
