Did people invent Heaven or Hell first, and why did they feel the need for either?

I think they were made up at the same time. I think they were invented to keep people in line; It is a form of control. I think the story is also a way for people to feel like there is an answer to the age old questions like "why am I here" and "what is the point of life" etc.
they are the only two options for the after life.

well for one god created heaven & hell and he created them so people could learn from there sins they commited on earth

No one invented heaven or hell. People make observations of whatever idea they're grasping at any given moment. Mine is that the longer any given idea is clung to, the uglier the hell that forms around it. When you just relax and let things be what they are, your hell dissolves.

Heaven and Hell were not invented. God created both of them. Heaven for believers and Hell for non believers
