Can Seroquel be prescribed for other reasons than being bi-polar?

Question:

Answers:
Seroquel can be used to treat depression, insomnia, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders
Yes, it is a very good anti anxiety agent in lower doses, and is not addictive. There are side effects as with most drugs but I have seen it be very good for chronic anxiety.

It is also used for psychotic disorders, with much less side effect than the older drugs.

Hope this helps,

Yes.I was prescribed it to help with my paranoid feelings and anxiety.
When in doubt...Wikipedia, LOL!
Yes, it has been prescribed for Schizophrenia and other forms of psychosis.

There are also starting to prescribe it for Major Depression.

I took it for a few months for Major Depression, I was in a medication research study. I thought it was too strong for me, so I'm back on Paxil now. Also, my wife didn't like it when I took Seroquel--she was worried about possible side effects (we both work for mental health).

I have a lot of sleep problems and insomnia related to my depression, and I'll have to say Seroquel really took care of that. I'm kind of used to staying up late though, and my job doesn't give me any trouble if I'm late, so I don't worry about it much.
