Does anyone else feel that no one will ever be able to love the real you???

Question:
Sorry i know this isn't really regarding mental health, but i thought i would get alot more smart and sensible responses here in comparision to other sections.

Answers:
I used to, when I was younger.

That's part of being human: to risk being AUTHENTIC. What used to confuse me is the fact that we have to behave differently in different settings and with different people. I could curse or say anything with close friends, but not with others, or I'd risk rejection. I could be silly in some places, but not others. If I like to be silly, or curse, shouldn't I do that whenever I want in order to be authentic?

Nope. Not always. We need to consider the feelings of others in the world. Standing up and telling a joke with The F Word during a funeral would be mean to others, even if that was my "authentic" desire and The Real Me.

Social appropriateness aside, I have also heard so many confessions and such from other people that I am convinced my own dreams, bad life moments, hideous thoughts, etc. are no big deal.

Final thought: It's not that everyone has to know everything about you in order for you to be Real. It's just that you shouldn't have anything(s) that you consider so terrible that you couldn't tell at least one person in this world (and it should be a 'safe' person of your choosing).
no I love me
Do we ever really know ourselves? Until we know the real us then no-one can love the real, but they can love us in spite of knowing.
Yes, I've always felt that way. The only ones whose love I am sure of are my kids.
There are days where I know no one will be able to put up with me, yet I have days where I know people will love my oddities. Makes a person interesting, you know? Don't give up.
Sometimes I feel that way because I have never been lucky with my relationships. I would never change the way I looked for someone though unless I had an accident and needed the surgery.
I can promise you this, I would never have enough money to have the operation in the first place.
Yes! i feel as though i'm never really the real me.As i don't feel i will be loved for who i really am.Even though im not a bad person.
I used to feel that way. In fact I felt that way for about 15 years. Then when I least expected it, I met my wife. Life is strange that way.
I felt that way for so long, it was actually one of my biggest fears. That all changed when I met my boyfriend of now 4 years. He loves me for all the I am, but even more importantly, all the I'm not. I never thought it would be possible, but to all those who live with that secret fear, it really is. I think the biggest key to finding it is pure honesty. Never hold anything back in a relationship. He and I are so open with each other, and he really is my best friend. We can come to each other with anything, without any fear, shame or regret. It's out there... it takes time and a lot of effort, but honesty really is the key.
Sometimes. Everyone has their own insecurities no matter how confident he or she thinks of themself. Life is how you make of it. As long as being yourself doesn't hurt anyone or yourself. :)
Don't believe the lie you are telling yourself. I think most people feel like you do at one time or another. We idolize our partner to the point we think they can't love us like we love them. This is not rational thinking. Tell yourself you are lovable and you will be loved.
If you're asking if there will ever be someone to love you just the way you are, the answer is YES. But don't waste your precious time looking for that guy. But rather, use your time in preparing yourself for the guy. Develop yourself mentally and physically. He will surely come to you very soon. And when he comes, you are prepared.

Here is one sure-fire move I could recommend. Join a good religious congregation in your area and participate actively in their activities. Not only will this improve your spirituality, but also improve your personality making you more attractive to the one who will love the real you.

You will be meeting him soon if you follow my suggestion, but remember, there's still someone else you loves the real you more than anyone else - - GOD.
Don't you worry Romantic Rights. I love every little bit of you ... even the bits that you think aren't up to much. I love EVERY little bit of you.

It's not just what's on the outside that really matters. You have an inner beauty too.

And I'm being deadly serious with that last statement!
I feel your pain. Just wait until you find the right person.
I used to feel like that a long time ago i now know that there is someone for everyone it just might take time to find them i had a long term g.f a long time ago and i wanted to be loved so i tried to be another person and i wasn t happy i am now married (to someone different) i am myself and i know i am loved even when i am hard to live with. So yes i have felt like that it just took someone to show me different
Yes I always thought that if anyone told me they loved me it proved that they were either a liar or a fool. Now I know that when you feel that nobody could love the REAL you, it is just an indication of low self-esteem; it is not actually true.
Hi,
God loves the real you. See what He thinks about You http://fathersloveletter.com/flltextengl...
