How do you get seizures? Just curious.?

I am just curious because my little cousin who is 5 has had many seizures in the past and it sounds really scary. Is there a way to prevent them? How do you get them?

It has to do with neuron misfiring in the brain. It's usually something that's genetic, or some sort of genetic mutation. There are different types of seizures, with different causes and different symptoms.
As far as I know, there is no way to prevent a disease that may cause seizures. However, there are medications that seizure sufferers can take to prevent having so many seizures.

They are caused by a chemical inbalance in the brain. You can't prevent them because yo never when they will happen
