How long it takes to cure a light depression ?

Question:
i am now taking sitalopram for 6 days and i feel better now but not completely .but the doctor said i will be ok just 2 or 3 days later.

Answers:
Every person is different. Give the medication time to work. If you still don't feel better in a few days, tell your doctor about your symptoms and see what he or she recommends. It took a couple of weeks before my medicine worked completely, but things did get better after that.
Find a hobby that you love, make some friends, and go have fun. Going out and having fun will cure your depression a lot faster than sitting at home by yourself taking pills.
Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and save you. Start reading the Bible, it is full of wisdom and healing. Stop holding your feelings of pain inside and release all unforgiveness. Learn to pray and most of all believe that God cares about you and love you.
A mild depression can be dealt with by forcing yourself to get outside , and do things that give you a feeling of fullfilment. My depression lifters are mowing the lawn, washing the car , something that I can look at when I done and think, you did something productive today .
You need a purpose. I believe that depression can be cured by getting out there and finding people who need hope and encouragement, and giving it to them. If you get busy helping and giving to others, I think you should probably not have a problem with depression. (You might not even need medication any more.)
