What causes someone to wake up crying?

Question:
I'm in my mid-twenties, and for as long as I can remember, every other month like clock work, I'll wake up from a dream in tears. Majority of the time they are sad dreams. Sometimes I cry more than others, but always I wake up with tears in my eyes. I've woken up in the past and my pillow has been soaked. But it always happens. Why?

Answers:
Mind is very complicated. scientists divide it into two major parts: conscious and subconscious.
Subconscious is the phase of mind beneath ordinary consciousness. It reflects all previous experiences. All the past experiences of the soul (whether remembered consciously or not) and unsolved problems. Negative areas of the subconscious mind can be detrimental to a person's emotional health. Our subconscious mind is more powerful than we can ever imagine.
You need to search your subconscious mind for your sad crying dreams.
Dreams are one way that subconscious mind tries to talk to conscious mind about the emotions and anything that conscious mind blocks .
Hypnosis is another way that can help you to connect your subconscious mind while you are awake. This way you can reach the reason of the sad dreams you are experiencing.
There are lots of websites that teach you to do self hypnosis or you can get help from professionals.
Good luck.
That's actually a good question keeping in mind the recent crop of stupid pop culture questions on Yahoo. As for the answer, I don't know. Although I remember this one dream I had when I was younger, I was given choice to pick and walk through three doors. One of the doors would be fatal. As luck would have it, I walked through the door that locked behind me, and I was to stay locked in there till I died. The experience seemed so real that I woke up crying, my parents had to come into the room to see what was up.
I used to do that more then once a month. I had a very traumatic childhood, and a lot of my dreams revolved around that. The only thing that helped me was going to a therapist. Maybe something traumatic happened to you? Sometimes our minds work in weird ways. Dreams can sometimes be a way we try to deal with something. Good luck to you, and best wishes!!
Without knowing your history, I'd say it has to do with previous trauma, depression, anxiety, or a reaction to an event or movie.
It happens for the same reason you'd cry while awake. The emotional build-up of the dream has caused your nerves to react...and you cry. Why it happens like clock-work? that's a good question.
sad dreams cause it cause even tho u are asleep ur brain is wide awake and if somethin sad happens it tells your eyes to cry so thats what happens
