Has anyone been prescribed Nuerontin for depression?

Question:
My doctor just recently changed my depression meds because they haven't been working and I have been cycling alot... (being alright then going really depressed and sad)
So he now prescribed me Nuerontin 300mg which I thought was a medicine for people with seizures? Just wanted to see if anyone else has taken it and if it helped them?
He also prescribed me lexapro which I have taken before

Answers:
It's also used to treat bipolar disorder. Seems like a lot of doctors are split about whether it actually works or not. One doctor would put me on it, another would say it was worthless and take me off. It didn't seem to help me much--it was better than nothing, but that was about it. I know other people, though, who have had a lot of success with it. I guess it depends on your unique body chemistry.
Hey. One of my friends takes Neuontin for depression. Even though it is a seizure medicine, it is used for depression and Bipolar disorder.
My friend loved it and it helped her alot.
I've never had major depression problems.
