Im desperately looking for a psychiatrist who deals with BPD plese I really appreciate any info. Thanks!?

Question:
In the SAN ANTONIO,TX area

Answers:
Are you referring to Bi polar Disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder. I have both...and it is hard to find a good doctor that will deal with the latter because we are the "difficult" ones of the psych field... sometimes labeled as untreatable.

I live in New York city...and wouldn't be able to help with your quest...however there is a gentaleman here named Dr. Ivan Goldberg who runs the Mood Disorders group...i mean he started it for we Nyers that need a weekly support group for all of what ails us... and he probably could hook you up with someone in your neck of the woods. San Antonio probably has its share of doctors... I will submit information to you and then the ball is in your court. From what I understand this Dr. Goldberge is one of the best doctors around for all the stuff...depression , Borderline , Bi-poloar...etc...so I am sure he is known and knows other in the field. Good luck...this stuff sucks...http://www.mdsg.org/index.html

and in your area.. Also- I found a San Antonio meet up group in your area...that would probably lead you to a lot of folks that may have a name of a good doctor http://bipolar.meetup.com/276/?gj=sj5...

Whatever you do...do something...don't wait. I was in the exact place that you were about 2 months ago...and just got on line..I go to some of these meetups...got a doc...switched to a better medication...I had 7 years depression free...dude...and it came back... I am/was desperate... every little bit helps.
I don't live in your city however, you can call your local hospital or Doctor referral service and inquire about Psychiatrist or a group would be better, in your area. Be sure you really check these Doctors out. I have BPD and it took a few Doctors before I felt comfortable with mine who I have been seeing for 4 1/2 years. I considered him my friend now and he is a Clinical Psychologist. You really on need a Psych for Medicines.

Good Luck to you. I hope your future turns out as bright as mine has.
A good friend of mine does, his name is David Oliver. Check out his website, it is an awesome resource just for bipolar. www.bipolarcentral.com It has great info, articles and resources about finding a psychiatrist who deals specifically with Bipolar. If you have any more questions or want to talk to him directly email me, deannalorraine@hotmail.com
Colin Ross is the medical director at Charter Oaks Hospital in Dallas or Houston (I don't remember which) and he is the guru in modern day treatment for trauma related disorders. They may run an out-patient clinic as well, but no doubt they could refer you if they don't provide the service.
