Question:
For the past 3 months, my mother has had a serious neck injury, and due to the chiropractor she was visiting, it has only gotten worse. I know chiropractors aren't the best people to see, and we've already decided not to go there anymore after her last visit left her in more pain than ever (we had to take her to the hospital). What concerns me (and is also concerning her) is that she cannot think clearly since the last visit, which was 3 days ago. Now, when we went to the hospital the gave her a strong non-narcotic pain killer to cope with the pain, as well as strong sleeping pills to help her sleep (she cannot sleep naturally anymore due to constant pain, pulling, and stiffness). What I'm wondering is, can those pills in addition to a muscle relaxant, anti-depressants (prescribed by her doctor for her depression from this long illness), and anti-inflammatory cause her to not think clearly? She talks soft, and has trouble forming sentences, so could it be the drugs?
Answers:
Yes, the cause could be the sleeping pills or the anti-depressants.
