How to get over depression. (Without drugs/therapy?)?


Question:
I have been depressed for a few years now and it only seems to be getting worse,so are there any methods for gettiong over the depression and actully not feel lonly,guilty,and regrutful and such without drugs and shrinks?

Answers:
Get a dog. I know when you get depress the stuff you love you find it usless, but try to find something that you think wont bored you. Travel around your state go to different countries. Change your look and go for something more happier. I know is easy said but hard to do but I really suggest to get a dog!
i'm in the same boat as you, i've suffered from depression since i was about 6 years old and i'm just now finally giving in and goin to see a shrink, just do it before you actually hurt yourself, the only reason i'm still alive is because i'm scared of the guy upstairs
Find someone to love you and you will soon get over the depression because it fills in these places in you that causes depression to start with.
You can try to treat yourself with self-help books and all the rest of the crap currently in the marketplace, but in the long run, it's unlikely to work and you'll just get worse.

Without seeming to brag, I'm a very intelligent woman, so I thought I don't need some psychologist to help me with this, I can deal with it myself. I wasted over thirty years of what could have been a happy life. When I finally did see a counsellor, it was the best thing I've ever done. I got my life back. No depression, no drugs, just good counselling. My only regret is that I waited so long.
well i have been depressed since iwas 14. also no therapy or shrinks. i just took it one day at a time. or you can cry out loud or scream just to get it off your chest. works always for me
write ur problems in a plain white paper(if u do not want to disclose that with ur friends) then once u have written all ur problems..tear that paper into pieces...so that no body else can read that.try this.....
