Going Crazy?
Ever feel like you're going crazy? I do - a lot. Do you just go to your regular family practitioner to ask about anti-depressants? I think I might need them . . . I have a nice life and a nice family, but I feel overwhelmed a lot just by the demands of day to day life and I feel like I'm crazy. Will my doctor think I'm crazy if I make an appointment for this? Or should I call a shrink? I can't afford therapy or counseling. I'm a middle class working mother.

Yeah I feel like I'm crazy - a lot - too.
Your doctor can refer you to someone to talk to, or you can contact a shrink directly. Do you have insurance to cover this? I was lucky that my company has a referral program instilled that immediately got me in contact with someone to talk to. The anti-depressants help me, but they aren't for everyone. There are different types and different doses which is why it is good to speak with a professional to explore your options. Good luck!
How can I convince a friend to stop cutting herself?
You can talk to your family doctor about this, but they can only prescribe certain medications. I would talk to your doctor about a Psychiatrist. Your doctor will not think your crazy, if you think you need something then you prob do. You can also talk to someone at http://www.hopeline.com Hope this helps
the answer doesnt have to be medication. plus, taking medication = side effects. a lot of times, the side effects aren't worth taking the medication. a lot of people feel the way you feel, and you're not going crazy. you need to get a friend, someone you can trust, but not a family member, that you can talk to. talk to them about this, explain it to them in full detail. what most people really need in life is just a friend, not a pill. see if you can find one, it'll help. it's basically like a free psychiatrist because youre talking about your problems and relieving the anxiety, which is what you would do with a psychiatrist. good luck.
Recovering from compulsive overeating disorder - is it okay to snack or not?
I think your problem is anxiety, not depression. Counseling will help with that also.
