Will i get rebound insomnia if i take dalmane or restoril once a week for 6 months if i suddenly stopped?

Question:

Answers:
Yes. It is possible.

Rebound insomnia occurs when you have been taking sleeping medication for a long time. While it is much more likely to occur if you had taken it on daily basis, it can potentially happen even if you just take it once a week.

The best thing is to slowly taper down, maybe to once every 1 1/2 weeks or 2 weeks and so on. After you are able to take yourself off the medication, stay away from all sleeping medication, not just Dalmane or Restoril but also Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata. The only one that might not give you withdrawl at this point is Rozerem.
