Receptive delay question...?

Question:
Yeah, when I was younger I had some fairly big problems with saying entire sentences and remembering things... for example, I would point to a store and say 'Store!' and my mom would say 'would you like to go to the store?' (and I'd just point and repeat what I said). I barely spoke until I was around 5 and a half... and even then I still had some difficulty and had a lisp for many years (subtle though).
My mom would take me to the grocery store and give me 3 things to get (from memory). I'd come back with 2... if it was 3 it'd be the wrong thing.

Now about 10 years later I'm better with it, but I still seem to have 'selective hearing' (aka I don't hear everything I'm told) occasionally, and my memory is kinda going down a bit... (not much, just the little things like when I leave a room to get something I forget when I leave, go back into the room and remember and such).

Is this normal? Will it get worse when I get older?
Will it carry on if I ever have kids in the future?

How did you find the term receptive delay? Did you receive formal assistance with this problem when you were younger? Is the guidance counselor at school aware of this? Have you been diagnosed?

Good luck and take care of you!

please let this be a fake question- but from my point of veiw they do not teach the children...
Time since they can no longer seem to use roman history as relevant - time is but numbers on a dial /face it is not back to sundials how time began.
information is howd you say steadily drip fed...the children act up because they are not challenged intilectually...mobiles are . well there is eveidence that they erradicate memory...in effect these last generations for the most are clones...very sorry that is a sweeping statement... but the schools primary, want children to learn say 1-10 forwards backwards upside down...yet they are reluctant to let the children play with jacks because of the misuse of the toy? yes i kinda get there point have controled rooms of over two hundred children and a whole bunch of scottish rev heads 14 15..if we want children to be able to flip numbers around in there head why not jacks flipping sets patterns...at least the girls would become... well those sort of activities seem to screw with the bitchy feelings

brad 7 nearly 8 missed year one from school in moving to nz.his intolerance to situations was enormous...he was put into remedial reading where he florished well i suppose in thinking about it they are not aware of his ability...like having to explain that the children are bullying him because he caused major disruption to thier learning last year he was 'the naughty1' and now his mr talent everyone wants to try and knock em down ...brad plays mind games with people he how to explain...finds out what they like and dislike about themselves and uses it to his advantage also particually keen on the theatricals.makes a meal of every situation...also has no control so it always backfires...you cant use it for personal gain?...see thats the thing with corruption at the state of play life doesnt always get you back you will always in someway be affected...one thing that puzzels me lukimea those sorts of illnesses what would the statisistics be in realation to earnings? and nobody is that ill....they never used to be that ill worked down pit - bad lungs, dogy ticker, new hip knee, the amout of placibos on the market... people used to have a chat to feel better...and why is it ok for two friends to be sitting next to each other each texting another friend...it is not interaction ... learning.the american lauguage is the first thing i noticed on cnn its very aggresive blunt, impatient..is it ?
