Something horrible is happening to me. I think it's OCD, and it's making me suicidal.?

Question:
For the last six months, I've been having this concern that I am attracted to young girls. At first it was girls17 or 16. I felt terribly guilty about this. But then it got worse. Soon I started to worry about being attracted to girls who were 10 years old and then even six. It is so horrible, I don't know what to do. A girl of eight stood next to me in the store, and I become paralyzed. I COULDN'T MOVE! I was frozen in place, scared to do anything, even to blink. It went away as soon as she left, but the guilt was horrible. I planned how I would kill myself. I CAN'T LIVE THIS WAY!

Also, I can't be around tools. I held a hammer in my hand, and was worried I would use it on a friend. I held a steak knife a day later and had to drop it because I was worried I was going to plunge it into my eye. What the hell is wrong with me?!!

Answers:
ive had OCD since I was 14 and the symptoms you are exhibiting are classic of OCD. The one good thing to keep in mind is that there is not one reported case of OCD where the person has acted on their fears. Try to find a professional in your area who specifically treats OCD, as you will more likely find help with someone who in specialized in the disease.
Hold on and don't give in. The obsessions always go away eventually, and things DO get better. I feel your pain and if you ever need someone to talk to about the disease feel free to email me. OCD is a horrible disease, and there are days where things are so bad that you just need someone to talk to.
You need god and a professional. There are alot of good churches and mental health clinics you can seek some help.
I am not a professional, please do whatever it takes to get yourself some professional help ie talk to someone you trust right away who can get you to a doctor or call a helpline that may have the right numbers for you quicker.
You are loved and cared about. Please love and care about yourself and others to know that getting some help as soon as possible is the best and safest thing to do...best of luck to you.
That's not OCD. You need to seek help. They offer free help at some clinics. Seriously. Go now.
It's not ocd, here is the definition of OCD:

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, OCD, is an anxiety disorder and is characterized by recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Repetitive behaviors such as handwashing, counting, checking, or cleaning are often performed with the hope of preventing obsessive thoughts or making them go away. Performing these so-called "rituals," however, provides only temporary relief, and not performing them markedly increases anxiety.

But you do have a definite problem if your exhibiting those characteristics get in contact with your local hospital psychiatric department they will be able to direct you to the correct person.

I put a couple of links below that may help.

Good Luck!
Here I have a solution.

I want you to imagine the absolute worst pain possible.

You are on fire.

Your skin is burning off your scalp, face, hands, legs.

That is what it feels like in an electric chair.

Worst than the damnation you will feel if you even touch a child.

Focus on this for a while. That'll cure you.
My advice for you will be to goto a doctor and tell them about how you feal and that you may have OCD. Have them refer you to a phsyiciatrist that will help you. You need to help yourself and get on maybe a good diet etc a better life.
u need help. go c a doctor
These are spiritually related problems you need someone trained in these matters. Not science. Science trys, but it is not there area. Only imagination.

So many frauds out there it is dificult to find people with real understanding - this is the challenge.

You problem can only be solved by proper belief and understanding.

Are you an athiest?
I second the guy who said this is classic OCD. See a professional.

Most people think that OCD is limited to clean freaks and perfectionists, but few are aware that whet you have is a rather commen form of (the obsessional part of) OCD.
It sounds you have a mood disorder. One woman was afraid of being in the kitchen with her husband because there were kitchen knives in there. She had anxiety soooo bad, she was afraid she'd "nut up" and pull out one and stab her hubby. Another woman wouldn't bathe her son until her hubby came home fore fear she'd "nut up" and drown her boy. Both ladies really knew they wouldn't ever do it, but with anxiety, your mind races and thoughts of the unspeakable just roll in. Those two examples are from The Midwest Center tapes by Lucinda Bassett on anxiety/depression..I don't think your a pedafile either. The founder, Lucinda Bassett, was the lady avoiding the kitchen knives! Don't worry, my friend, you are not crazy or deranged. You have a mood disorder that can be helped by one antidepressent a day. I take Paxil and it sure is nice not feeling like I'm gonna "freak out" in the grocery store or run my little sedan into a oncoming Mac truck! And it's really cool not wanting to "off" myself everyday. Sounds sooooo familiar, doesn't it. Obsessive thinking, that's what's ya got, nothing more....
