I am on Abilify, clonopin, lamictal, and paxil. Is this common? What do I have?
Question:
I am pretty restless, lazy and smoke a lot. I feel like any little thing I do is an accomplishment. I am trying a daily routine. I went to a mental rehab for awhile this summer to try and not feel so hopeless. I am trying to learn to love myself, but smoking and weigt gain now--since I started the new medicine and feeling better, is worrying me.
Answers:
I think you have a case of the lazy butt. But that does not mean that you don't need some help with things. Your on the medicine because it helps you to feel better, so love feeling better while it last.Because trust you me, feeling good comes in spurts. Now when I called you lazy.lol I mean to say that you need to get up and make yourself stop that smoking cigarettes! those old cigaettes make you stink and in the end they can cause some horrible health problems. Oh and you can lose some of that weight by just going without a few meals. You can do it! Just eat some apples and drink some juice. Then snack on baby carrots all day long. Not only is this good for you, it will give your body back some nutrients that smoking depletes your body of. Go for a long walk everyday. Find a good friend that really does care for you and do things with your friend. Don't always tell everything there is to know about yourself. Be a mystery so that when people do meet you someday then they can decide who you are by thierselfs. Because sometimes people and I speak for me to, seem to make judgement calls on people on medication weather we mean to do it or not.Must be human nature or something. I really have learned to treat others as I would want to be treated anymore, but watch out for a few bad apples that can make your life seem even harder then it already is. You seem like a really nice person. But also, you seem like you you don't have a lot of confidence in you. And that is where you need to fix the problem. You are a uniqe person with a gift to offer someone. Search for your gift and then let your light shine. And about the medication. Always be aware of your own health for sure. Sometimes thier are some Doctor's that will put you on any medication thatyou want and when this starts to happen, then this is not good for you at all. You know your body better then anyone else. You live inside your body. So be sure to be sure that you really do need the medication before you take it. It's common since and I know you have that to. Because you know that smoking is bad for you and all. You need to move around. Your body needs to be pushed a bit. It won't hurt you to get up and go for a brisk walk everyday. You really have to get your bowels moving. When you take all thatmedicine then sometimes people get constipated and this is not good. Be sure to drink a lot of water since water will fill your stomach up and make you feel full. This way you won't gain weight either. Get something with Fiber in it. Get some prunes and eat you two or three prunes a day or buy some benifiber, this is clear and mixes well with juice so you won't taste it. Pray to God and then Pray some more because right now we all need his help! So you can do this! I know you can! God Bless you!
Sounds like you are on quite a bit of meds, you doctor may be trying you on new medications in addition to the older ones to see if it will help. Hang in there. It took quite a while before my doctor was able to find the right medications for me, but it is worth it.
Take Care
You probably do have Bipolar Disorder and it often is accompanied by the psychosis. The meds you are on I'm familiar with because I too have Bipolar 1 Disorder which means I experience extreme mixed episodes..I go from depression to mania at the drop of a hat.
You can really learn a lot about your meds by "googling" them and going to their websites. I don't take abilify anymore. I had some intestinal issues for 3 years with it. I still take lamictal, xanax, zoloft and depakote.
Because Bipolar Disorder is so hard to diagnose let alone treat, you can go on a roller coaster ride of having your meds changed and adjusted.
If you need to talk, just email me and I'll tell you more.
what kind of doctor doesnt explain this to their patient? You shouldnt take these medications if you dont even know what they are for.
