What do you do when you just have a hard time falling asleep?

Lately at night I have been having insomnia and it's killing me because i have a hard time going to bed early, then I have to get up early. I'm so exhausted anyone have any ideas on how they fall asleep.

A lot of rough things were going on in my life this year, and I had so much trouble getting to sleep - many sleepless nights actually. I find it best to get ready for bed at least an hour before I actually want to, and instead of watching t.v., I'll read or listen to some mello music. I would reccomend artists such as elliot smith, or emily haines (solo stuff), because they are slow and soothing. Books, go for something that you're interested in, but not so interested in that you will want to stay up all night reading.

Don't try exercising, and try not to drink any cafenated drinks close to the time you want to go to sleep.

If that doesn't work, try taking half a gravel for awhile, because you could just be extremely stressed/tense, and need to relax. Eventually you won't need it at all.

What has always helped me was going down to Hi-Health or some health store. Even Walgreens. Getting some melatonin, Trytophan, or the special sleep mixture stuff they have for sale. Which contains Theanine, GABA, Seratonin and more. Its only about $10-30 for the sleep mixtures, and about $3.00 for melatonin. Each of them have multiple tablets like 60 of them. So it will last you a month! It usually gets you to sleep within 15-60 minutes.
