DBSA = Depression Bipolar Support Alliance
They have all types of support groups throughout the country. I have been to the meetings and really benefited. Additionally, they hold meetings for family members as well.

Yes...there are many DBSA is one...but check with your local mental health organizations...they will be point you in the right direction.
the reality of supporting bipolar kids is not really supported by the rigidity of an expectant normaility. try to introduce musical creation. buy the kid a drumset, if you can find a place for them to play it. music contains dynamics, ideal for such a mind. and rather than a "support group" talk to the department of mental health in your area and see if you can get them to start a music session. watch out for formal rigidity.
There are support groups for everything under the sun, bipolar disorder won't be the exception. You would be best advised to go on the Internet and find the nearest group. If you do not find one to assist you in person I'm sure you can do it on line.
